The village owes its name at the former presence of wolves. This is one of the most populous villages of the valley (1 000 inhabitants). We can find old houses of XVII and XVIII centuries. The Church Saint-Martin (XVI Century) has numerous sculptures along capitals. The pulpit is carved and gilded wood. Every summer, “Les Estives Musicales Internationales” are organized in the church (a festival of classical music).

At the foot of the mountain of the “Rey” are two districts (Pédéhourat and Pédestarrès) in direction of Lourdes.

The 1 of July to the 31 of August, there is a guided tour of the peat bog.

About the summer market: every Wednesday starting from 8 o’clock (It starts the 30 of June until September).
